PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the spare parts inventory within customer service. Responsibilities include material expediting, movement, transactions, and inventory control. Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. Develops and implements control systems to move inventory in a timely and cost effective manner. Negotiates with production and OEM vendors for delivery of forecast parts. Maintains spare parts lists and analyzes and effects disposition of surplus, scrap, and obsolete inventory for assigned products. Resolves inventory discrepancies. May be responsible for preparing monthly reports as requested by management.

 

LEVELING REQUIREMENTS

* Entry Level: Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in material planning and handling inventory control and good customer service and communications skills. Intermediate Level: Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in material planning and handling inventory control and good customer service and communications skills.

Senior Level: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in material planning and handling inventory control and good customer service and communications skills.

Staff Level: Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Work leadership may be provided by assigning work and resolving problems. Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in designing technical training courses, and technical knowledge of company products.
