PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Note: Employees responsible for interpretation of test results or test equipment malfunction should be matched to the Production Test Technician (7271-7275) or Test Engineer (4721-4725).

Responsible for performing routine go/no-go tests of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. Sets up test devices using hand tools or automatic test methods. Documents test results. May perform simple repairs and/or component removal or replacement. May maintain logs and records denoting malfunctions.

 

LEVELING REQUIREMENTS

 

Entry Level: Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Requires basic reading, writing, addition and subtraction skills, and successful completion of company's on-the-job training or probationary program.

Intermediate Level: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments. Requires experience in simple repairs or component replacement, reading, writing, and intermediate arithmetic skills, and ability to use hand tools and testing equipment. Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.

Senior Level: Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Requires experience in simple repairs or component replacement, reading, writing, and intermediate arithmetic skills, and demonstrated ability to use hand tools and testing equipment. Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.
