JOB TITLE: Assembler SUBFUNCTIONAL: Production
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Assembler (Levels 1 through 5): Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications. Survey Tip: For those companies in the Medical Devices/Scientific Instruments Industry the position would typically be assembling tests kits and/or diagnostic kits.
LEVELING REQUIREMENTS:
Level 1:
· SKILL: Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
· JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.
· SUPERVISION: Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
· EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 0 - 1 year of related experience.
Level 2:
· SKILL: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
· JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are semiroutine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

SURVEY JOB TITLE: Prototype Assembler SUBFUNCTIONAL: Production
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Prototype Assembler (Levels 1 through 5): Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro‑mechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental requirements in pre-production projects. Works from rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components. May perform rework and quality testing. Work typically includes interaction with development and/or manufacturing engineering personnel.
