PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for providing analytical and specialized administrative support to relieve and assist executive, administrative, line and staff managers of complex details and advanced administrative duties.  Executes special or continuous research and data analysis tasks.  Analyzes problems, determines approach, compiles and analyzes data and prepares reports/recommendations.  Coordinates activities between departments and outside parties.  Contacts company personnel at all organizational levels to gather information and prepare reports.  Work is generally of a critical or confidential nature.  Assignments may be found in various functional areas.

 

 

LEVELING REQUIREMENTS 

    Highly Skilled Level:  Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.  May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.  Requires specialized administrative support experience, arithmetic skills, the ability to use automated office equipment, read difficult instructions, and maintain written records.  An AA degree is preferred. 

Specialist Level:  Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.  Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may supervise the activities of other nonexempt personnel.  Requires specialized administrative support experience, intermediate arithmetic skills, the ability to use automated office equipment, read difficult instructions, and maintain written records.  An AA degree is preferred.  This job has been placed in a nonexempt category for orientation purposes only and may be classified exempt in your company.  The placement in a nonexempt category should not be considered a recommendation.  Companies should use the FLSA tests and other factors to determine overtime status.
