PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to relieve manufacturing managers, or staff, of administrative details. Records and logs daily schedules and manpower requirements, equipment maintenance schedules, material supply, etc. Maintains records of production, quality and cost objectives versus actual. Compiles special reports as directed. Provides information to callers. Provides general information to personnel regarding company procedures.

 

LEVELING REQUIREMENTS

Entry Level: Works on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Requires basic reading, writing, addition and subtraction skills.

Intermediate Level: Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments. Requires experience in a manufacturing environment and reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills. Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.

Senior Level: Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Requires experience in a manufacturing environment and reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills. Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.

Highly Skilled Level: Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel. Requires experience in a manufacturing environment and reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills. Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.
